Christine Kaufmann
Christine Kaufmann (b. December 25, 1951) is a former Democratic member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 40 from 2007 to 2017.
Kaufmann did not seek re-election to the Montana State Senate in 2016 because she was term-limited.
Kaufmann served in the Montana House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007. She was Vice Chair of the Lewis and Clark County Democratic Central Committee in 1998, and Vice Chair of the Democratic Control Committee from 1999 to 2000.
Biography
Kaufmann earned her B.A. from Goshen College in 1974, and her M.A. from the University of Montana in 1988.
Kaufmann's professional experience includes working in Student Services for Goshen College from 1980 to 1985; and as an organizer and lobbyist for the Montana Environmental Information Center from 1988 to 1990, Environmental Specialist for the State of Montana from 1990 to 1992, and Executive Director for the Montana Human Rights Network.

Kaufmann won re-election in the 2012 election for Montana State Senate, District 47. Kaufmann ran unopposed in the June 5 primary election and defeated Mark Perea (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[7][8]
