Christine Kim represented the East Side District on the Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors in Illinois. She was first appointed to the board in December 2012.[1]

Kim ran for re-election in the general election on April 7, 2015.[2] She successfully won another term on the board.[3]

Four of the seven seats on the Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors were up for general election on April 7, 2015. The four seats included two East Side seats, one West Side seat and one at-large seat.

The seats of incumbents Deborah K. Ziech, Lorraine E. Guerrero, Tonya M. Roberts and Christine Kim were on the ballot. Roberts and Kim successfully retained their two East Side seats after defeating one challenger, Sammie Valadez. Guerrero did not file to run for re-election, leaving two challengers, Quinn Adamowski and Frank Cabreda, to run for the open West Side seat. Adamowski won the seat. Only Ziech filed to run for the at-large seat, leaving her to run unopposed and win re-election.

School board candidates in Illinois are only required to file campaign finance reports if they accept contributions or make expenditures in excess of $5,000 in a 12-month period.[5]
