Christine Pellegrino (Democratic Party) was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 9. She assumed office on June 5, 2017. She left office on January 1, 2019.
Pellegrino (Democratic Party, Working Families Party) ran for election to the New York State Senate to represent District 4. She lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.

2017
A special election for the position of New York State Assembly District 9 was held on May 23, 2017. The last day for candidates to accept or decline nomination was March 20, 2017.[1]
The seat was vacant following Joseph Saladino's (R) appointment as town supervisor of Oyster Bay, New York.
Christine Pellegrino (D) defeated Thomas Gargiulo (R) in the special election.[2] According to a breakdown of presidential election results by state legislative districts, Donald Trump (R) won District 9 in the 2016 presidential election by 23 points.[3] Saladino won re-election to the seat in 2016 by 37 points.[4] In total, Pellegrino received 5,837 votes and Gargiulo received 4,340 votes.[5]
