Christine grew up in Humboldt, TN and longed to return home after a successful healthcare career. She has always had a servant heart and showed it in every community she lived in. She transferred that same passion on her return to West Tennessee becoming intimately involved with many local service organizations. As a graduate of Gibson County Leadership and the WestStar Leadership Program, Christine took the time to learn the latest information on all the great things West Tennessee has to offer as well as where the challenges lie. She looks forward to offering her years of global experience to help West Tennessee move forward in an ever changing environment.
  • The CHANGE Starts With You. Make A Difference In Your Community Today. Vote Warrington State Representative District 79
  • We need leaders with real-world experience who understand the challenges we are facing and are bold enough to take decisive action to protect the health and well-being of our communities
  • I will run an energetic campaign utilizing the latest tools to connect with our citizens and make sure they are heard during these challenging times in Gibson and Carroll counties."

Of course my mother. She had 5 girls by the age of 22 and raised us working at the local factory. She was the first female manager in the factory and her work ethic and ability to juggle it all made a huge influence on me as the first born. She always told me you can do whatever you set your mind to do. As a first generation college person in my family it began there and continued with her constant encouragement throughout my life and even in this election.
The World Is Flat by Thomas Friedman. Analyzes globalization in the 21st century. I bet he will have another after this pandemic.
Always remember that you are working for the people and not special interest groups. Keep an open line of communication and be willing to listen to all sides.
Strategic thinking is my #1 strength according to the countless profiles completed by organizations that I have worked for. High energy level, strong focus skills, ability to win others over, and ability to take charge in difficult situations are the remainder of the strengths companies have identified in me that have been evident in my work.
Researching, writing and passing legislation important to the district and West TN, meet the needs of citizens of the district by working to fulfill their requests and provide and oversight function for the executive branch.
I want to be known for my servant heart.
Worlds Fair 1982. I was 21 and it changed my life working there as a VIP Tour Guide for the US Pavilion. The contacts I made, the people I met from Presidents of Countries to the latest movie stars changed my life.
Sonic Drive In Humboldt, TN. 3 years on roller skates!
Now Discover Your Strengths. I had been managed in my early years by all of my faults and that I had to fix those to be successful. There was a shift in management training in the 90's where they focused on your strengths and developing those vs managing your weaknesses. It was revolutionary to me. From that point forward, I never gave the weaknesses a thought. I even raised my daughter by this book. Rather than forcing her to do things she wasn't good at, I sat her in the lane of what she did well. She excelled and still excels today.
Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs. The movie scared the mess out of me but Clarice was unshakeable. I've never been able to watch it a second time!!
Maintaining good health. I worked in healthcare but became all consumed with the hours and lost focus of taking care of myself. If you don't take care of the vessel that helps you in your journey every day the journey gets tough. I pride myself on keeping balance and living a healthy lifestyle. I hope to be a model for Tennesseans in that regard.
I believe the representatives are more responsive to their constituents concerns generally. Its why it is critically important to be actively engaged in your community to represent their needs.
There are lots of ways to get that experience. I am 60 years of age with global management experience and have served on countless boards. I've have worked as a lobbyist int he healthcare industry and have gone through election processes in other areas of my life. I don't believe it is a must have if the experience is there from their professional background.
I think that mentality continues to close the doors to diverse candidates in a race. My credentials and experience far out weigh most candidates in this area of West TN.
Drug and Mental Health Issues, Maintaining a healthy state budget and being recession ready, getting Tennesseans healthy, considering new tax laws to collect the ever increasing on line sales tax for the state, and access to healthcare. With a 9.5% uninsured rate we need to focus on preventative care to get Tennesseans ready for work.
Ability to keep open communication and a strong working relationship to achieve similar state goals while addressing specific West TN needs.
It is always good to build relationships, especially with other legislators to share best practices and to support each other to build a stronger state. That being said, it helps to have a strong ability to effectively communicate and work with a wide variety of people. I have done that for over 30 years working across many sectors of business and working globally with all types of people in the healthcare industry.
In the roll where the breath of my talents can be best used. Put good people in the right places and you will have success.
Minnie D. Craig. I always admire first of anything. As a first born of 5 girls, her story inspired me. I can't image the challenges she faced in 1883. I am a history buff and admire the stories to be told by our leaders.
Yes, this is the next chapter of my life and why I moved back home to Tennessee. Came back to give back to the community that gave to me.
My family still today has a rich history of farming and my mom and aunts working in manufacturing in the area when it was a healthy part of this community. Oh the stories to be told are too numerous to mention. Most primarily have to do with work ethic and making ends meet. The things that truly still inspire me today.
