Christopher Ahuja is a small business owner, dedicated and community-oriented individual whose journey in Los Angeles spans over two decades. Recognizing the importance of active participation in community service and has become a driving force for positive change in the city. His commitment to effecting change, one step at a time, underscores his belief in personal accountability and responsibility.

A proud alumnus of California State University San Bernardino, Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. His dedication to education and learning is evident in his ongoing pursuit of knowledge. Currently enrolled at The Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Christopher is working towards a Public Leadership Credential and has plans to pursue a Masters in Government next year.

In the wake of the pandemic, Christopher, fueled by a desire to contribute to a more equitable and sustainable city, realized the need to amplify his community involvement. As a member of the Tarzana Neighborhood Council, he actively engages in local governance, shaping policies and initiatives that directly impact the community he calls home.

Christopher's passion extends beyond his immediate community involvement. He serves as the Chair of the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, Treasurer for Feel The Bern SFV (Bernie Sanders Democratic Club), and is a dedicated member of the California Biodiversity Working Group.
  • Environment and Sustainability : Support aggressive measures to combat climate change implementing the Green New Deal, a proposal to address climate change and economic inequality through a comprehensive set of policies which would save our planet and create millions of new jobs in the clean energy sector
  • Medicare for All : Supporting single-payer healthcare system, often referred to as "Medicare for All." This would provide government-funded healthcare for all Americans, eliminating private insurance. Healthcare is a human right
  • Non-interventionist foreign policy : I will advocate for restraint in using military force and believe that it should only be used in self-defense or in response to a direct threat. An emphasis on Diplomacy and Negotiation is a must. We must avoid long term military commitments and focus on domestic priorities such as economic prosperity, infrastructure, and social welfare.
The specific areas of public policy that I'm passionate about, pertain to public transportation and sustainability. We have to think in specific terms regarding our district in making a more equitable environment for our daily lives and working commutes The time spent driving can be mitigated by realizing and implementing polices that allow our future to have a positive impact for our families and environment.
Political philosophy is shaped by books, films and also life experiences.

My grandmother was raised in the Bears Paw Mountains in Montana during the Great Depression. She understood how to get things done. She had grit and was a trailblazer.

I learned from her to stand up for what is right. To speak up to injustices you witness and never apologize for being who you are. We are American and it's our responsibility to help our country and community by giving back

Also, when playing monopoly, always build coalitions, so you can win ;)
To listen to their constituents and base their decisions on objectivity. These decisions must be based on real data that help the greater good of our community.
I listen to people and am astutely aware of any biases I may have, but as I have learned in my Harvard Kennedy School of Government, (PLC) courses, one must get up on that balcony to diagnose the problem with objectivity to make clear and rational decisions.
You have to be about it.

If you breathe your district, you know who your people are.

You understand the daily struggles they endure and also the wins they celebrate.

For far too long, many of our representatives have become inaccessible to the people they serve and that is the problem. I am here to serve my community and to create positive impact for our district.
Someone who was passionate about helping others realize their full potential and to never give up.
There has been many, but two important ones come to mind.

The Columbine High School massacre and 9/11 were horrific events that changed our country in profound ways.
The Godfather. It's about family and all the trials and tribulations they endure and overcome. There are consequences and accountability for both the positive and negative actions they undertake.
Radiohead - Idioteque

The Weeknd - Save Your Tears
Finding the balance between work and personal time. As a father and husband, I try and practice on sharing my time with my daughters, Athena and Artemis. They are the "why" of my existence and of course the love of my life, my partner in all of this, my wife Maggie.
It can be. But if an elected official has been doing things wrong and not serving his community, then their experience is mute.

Learning frameworks on how to legislate, delegate along real world life and work experience goes a long way. Those concepts can't be dismissed when compared to a career politician.
Addressing the impacts of climate change, including extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and other environmental concerns, is and will continue to be a significant challenge. There must be both domestic and international collaboration in order for us to get closer to solving one of the greatest challenges to have been presented to ALL of us.

Ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all Americans is an ongoing challenge that is also correlated with demographic shifts of an aging population that should and needs to be cared for.
There are a few that come to mind, but with President Jimmy Carter in the news recently, there are many positive virtues he implemented, such as the Camp David Accords.

Carter brokered the Camp David Accords in 1978, leading to a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. This is what diplomacy is all about and something to learn from.
The residents of my district feel left out and not heard.

The overall consensus from our qualitative research is the lack of fresh ideas and policies that we so desperately need.
Why don't oysters donate to charity?

Because they are shellfish!
Compromise is not always necessary for policymaking. It is case by case. Sometimes, one must not compromise their values and stand tall in their authenticity.

It is important to lead with both Moral and Authentic Leadership.
