Chris has served as the Chief Deputy Recorder since 2015 and has more than 20 years of public, private, and non-profit experience.
  • Connecting homeowners with the resources and services available to them.
  • Advocating for fair, affordable, and equitable housing policy.
  • Providing efficient, responsive, and transparent services to Marion County residents.
The Recorder's Office maintains property records, such as deeds and mortgages and is uniquely position to assist homeowners. Everyone deserves the ability to access all of the benefits of home and homeownership. Helping people keep their homes or pass on the family home to the next generation is good for families and good for the community as a whole.
In addition to property records, the Recorder is also the filing office for military discharge records (DD-214's). There is no fee to record them and copies are free to the veteran or their family. These records are not available to the public, but recording them safeguards a copy will be available for the service member to access their benefits.
