Christopher Haenicke is a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Michigan. He was appointed to the court on January 15, 2015, by Republican Governor Rick Snyder.[1] He ran for election to his seat in 2016.

Education

Haenicke earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in 1989 and his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.[2]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[3] Incumbent Christopher Haenicke ran unopposed in the 8th District (partial term) general election.[4]

Judges of the Michigan District Courts are each elected to six-year terms.[5] The elections for this court are nonpartisan contested elections. To serve on this court, a judge must be a qualified elector of the district, licensed to practice law in the state, under the age of 70, and have five years of experience practicing law.
