Christopher Ireland will have resided in Providence, Rhode Island for 20 years this year.

Since moving to Rhode Island he has, became a homeowner, business owner, husband, and father.

Chris has lived in District 7- Mount Pleasant, Valley and Elmhurst neighborhood since moving to Rhode Island from Massachusetts. As a business owner he has seen and felt the struggles to keep the doors open while providing for his family. As a family man and husband he has watched his life change as his daughter was diagnosed as a type one diabetic at the early age of 2 1/2. With his wife Kathryn they learn the skills and care to adjust to this life-changing illness for their daughter.

Chris started to get reengage in politics and Rhode Island’s educational system when his daughter became to age to enter pre school. He daughter entered, Achievement First Iluminar as one of their founding classes.

Chris is running as an independent because he believes in policy over party. Rhode Island is the smallest state in our nation, we should be in the forefront for great education for all, offering an open and invited business climate for businesses to start and grow in our state. The belief that the state, local government, private businesses and the union should all synergize together to address issues that are state facing regarding education, economy, public safety.

  • When elected, I will focus on what’s right for the state and for the people
  • When elected, I will not be influenced by outside political factors that would not benefit the people of Rhode Island
  • I will represent all of Rhode Island decisions that will improve our state for all
Three public policies that I will focus on on my first two years is finally fixed our broken educational system. I can recall for the past 40 years. The educational system nationally has been terrible in most areas. When becoming a father, and wanting the best for my daughter. Concerns of good education, safety became a key factors. Education is the foundation to lead our children to a successful future. This should not be limited or restricted based on where you live in our state. We need to finally address and fix the issue with the help of all involved parent teachers unions and state/local officials.

Second issue comes down to the business environment for businesses to grow and employees to prosper in our state.
Our state like others have challenges, regarding opening, growing surviving and thriving. I believe the key to better life for Rhode Islanders is to help, support, and grow our local businesses. In return individuals who work for these companies will prosper and not have to rely on “minimum’s wages” set by the state or government to survive.

Third issue comes down to the house and crisis. This issue should be tackled jointly with state/local officials, unions in private businesses. We need to design, housing and development to be able to respond quicker in regards to inspections, permitting, and building based on the housing market, micro housing, senior housing in affordable housing for different income levels.
