Christopher Jeffery, Democrat for State Representative in Michigan's 18th District.

Two time Iraq War Veteran in Marine Corps Infantry.

2007-Habbaniyah, Iraq as squad automatic weapon(SAW) gunner.

2008-Fallujah, Iraq as Team Leader and Designated Marksman(DM).

Western Michigan University-Business Administration

With Leadership experience under some of the harshest conditions I will put it to work for the people of the 18th District ensuring things get done without the side rhetoric seen all too common in politics today. I will be accessible to the people as I would like If I needed help and the shoe was on the other foot. You will be able to speak directly to me, not to a secretary or or other channel and I will be completely honest and transparent with what I can help you with. If something is beyond my reach I will not lie to you or just tell you what you want to hear until our conversation is over, I will personally work with you until we find a solution that works and meets your needs. I have the patience and discipline necessary to be the type of Representative I would like to have at my disposal when I am in a bind or have a problem that needs solving and that means all types of problems not just community related or things that I could introduce legislation on.

  • Lake St. Clair is a very important asset this community has and must be treated that way. I will make sure it gets the care that it deserves so the thousands of people who enjoy it can continue to do so for years to come.
  • St. Clair Shores has always been a family friendly city. Having been born and raised here I will make sure that it remains the beautiful place that I remember growing up.
  • Transparency and accessibility are the two most important things to have in YOUR Representative. They must be honest and you must be able to reach them easily. It should be no more difficult than an email, text or phone call away.
Community involvement and constituent relations are the top two things to consider when forming policy or introducing legislation. After all, the entire point of having one elected official to represent the people of the district is to be the sole voice of those people and without directly interacting and listening to them it is near impossible to give the people the change they are looking for and truly deserve.
Not only being honest and easily accessible but being cordial and friendly when a constituent calls is of the utmost importance. A constituent should not feel as if they are being treated as a thorn in the side when they call with a problem and should have the feeling of being adequately represented when they get off the phone with you.
While I was at South Lake High School in second period if I remember correctly, I remember watching the second plane hit the second tower in disbelief that such an act could be done to innocent people. When I graduated I entered the Marine Corps and although testing very high on the entrance exam and being able to choose literally any job the Marines offered I already knew infantry was where I was going to be able to directly avenge the losses of so many that lost their lives that day.
As soon as I turned 13 I became a caddy at Lochmoor country club. When I turned 15 I was hired as a prep cook and dishwasher at Little Tony's lounge. I have steadily worked all of my life and it has shaped me into the the type of person I hope my 13 year old son grows up to be one day.
It is a legislators duty to build relationships with not only fellow Democrats but with Republicans as well in order to successfully serve the people of the district and get done what is needed.
