Christopher M. Messervy
Christopher M. Messervy ran for judge on the Madison County District Court in Alabama. In early May 2012, the Alabama Republican Party disqualified Messervy's candidacy after his campaign missed multiple finance disclosure filing deadlines.[1]
About the situation, Messervy said, "I appreciate everyone's support. It's difficult to be removed on a technical issue especially after all the hard work everyone put in...We disclosed every contribution and expenditure prior to the runoff for the whole election, there was nothing kept from the public."[1]
2012 election
Messervy was defeated by Linda F. Coats in the Republican primary on March 13, receiving 31.31 percent of the vote. Since no candidate received 50 percent of the vote, the race went to a runoff on April 24. Messervy won the runoff, with 61.5%. He would have run unopposed in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]
