Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Mason's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Education: Schools are no longer centers for education but facilities of indoctrination for the liberal philosophy. A philosophy bent on destroying the very country it pretends to serve. I will support legislation defunding the Federal Department of Education. Each state and county should control their own education systems in order to create diversity and competition in education between the states. Doing so will produce a better system of learning for our children now and in the future.
  • Jobs: I won't create a single job. It is the work of the private sector to do so. However, I will do everything I can to keep the government out of the way of businesses so they can do the work of job creation.
  • Borders: Current immigration laws are sufficient to control illegal immigration. The problem is the Federal Government isn't enforcing its own laws. I will support legislation that gives the states the ability to enforce immigration laws. The states will be given the power to deport illegal immigrants across national borders. The legislation will also penalize states that harbor illegals. Strong immigration policies will keep American citizens from having to compete against the world for our own jobs.
  • Foreign Policy: If we must go to war, for any circumstance, it needs to be in the vital interest of the United States or our close allies. In a conflict, I will only support the President if he prosecutes a war swiftly and doesn't commit troops to 'nation building'. War needs to be aggressive and efficient. The United States must strike fear in her enemies during a conflict. This is the nature of battle.
  • Taxes: I will create legislation to defund the IRS and promote a low national consumption tax. A consumption tax would put the power of taxation in the hands of the people rather than the Federal Government. This system would encourage the government to support a strong economy in order to gain greater revenues. No longer will representatives be able to give themselves raises while the rest of us lose our jobs or see salary reductions.
