Christopher Scanlon is the acting Mayor of Buffalo in New York. He assumed office on October 15, 2024.
Scanlon (Democratic Party) is also a member of the Buffalo Common Council in New York, representing South District. He assumed office in 2012. His current term ends on December 31, 2027.
Scanlon (independent) ran for re-election for Mayor of Buffalo in New York. He will not appear on the ballot for the general election on November 4, 2025. He lost in the Democratic primary on June 24, 2025.
Scanlon became acting mayor of Buffalo, New York on October 15, 2024, replacing Byron Brown (Democratic).[1]
Biography
Born in South Buffalo, Scanlon graduated from Bishop Timon St. Judge High School, going on to attend Erie Community College. Beyond his work on the common council, Scanlon has experience in managerial roles at UPS and the Western New York Pub Group Inc.[2]
