Based on her experience, Christy has been impressed with the education her three children have received at APS charter and magnet schools. Her motto is “Aurora Public Schools are the best kept secret in Colorado.” As such, with APS students losing valuable education opportunities due to the COVID pandemic, Christy has joined the call to run for Aurora Public Schools Board of Education Director this November with the goal of helping the district address the needs of the whole child. Her focus will be the mental health, social-emotional well-being, and educational achievement of our APS children and teens as they face the challenges of growing and learning.
- My first priority is to remediate the learning loss that occurred due to the pandemic
- My second priority is to address the mental heath and social-emotional needs of students due to the pandemic.
- My third focus is to represent mothers and their concerns across APS. Mothers need access to information regarding how to best advocate for their children.
