Chrysanthia Carr-Seals
Chrysanthia Carr-Seals (Democratic Party) was a member of the Fayette County Commission in Kentucky, representing District 3. She assumed office in 2019. She left office on January 2, 2023.
Carr-Seals (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Fayette County Commission to represent District 3 in Kentucky. She won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Biography
Chrysanthia Carr-Seals earned a bachelor's degree in English language and literature from Fisk University in 1980, an M.P.A. in personnel management from Kentucky State University in 1988, a J.D. from Miles Law School in 1994, and a master's of divinity in theological studies from the Lexington Theological School in 2010. Carr-Seals’s career experience includes working as a teacher with the Fayette County Public Schools, a consultant with Eastern Kentucky University, and a pastor in Winchester, Kentucky.
She served as the chairperson of the Services to Youth Committee, which describes its goal as, “to equip black youth to use their intellect and spirit of achievement to become successful and productive citizens.”[1] Carr-Seals was appointed to serve as the District 3 Magistrate for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.[2]
