|As a mother of four boys, a tech executive and a long-time community organizer, I believe that access to a world class education is a right for all of our children. As a graduate of Santa Clara University's Executive Masters in Business program as well as University of California at Santa Barbara undergrad, I know that education was a critical factor in my success.
My family and I are deeply rooted in the community and believe in the value of serving and investing in our community. My husband is a high school teacher in East San Jose and leads the Alum Rock Youth Soccer League and all our children attend East Side schools (Adelante Dual Immersion and Evergreen Highschool). I, myself, have served as the Chair of our School Site Governance Committee and on ARUSD's Parent Committee.
In my professional career, I have dedicated my work to creating systematic change in the private, public and non-profit sectors. It is this breadth of experience across sectors that enables me to affect change and bring greater equity and inclusion across diverse communities. This is my life's work, and I know my experience and dedication will create meaningful outcomes for our students.

- Empowering youth is the key to our future!
- During distance learning, it is critical that we provide access to resources for all our students!
- I will bring my multi-sector experience to create resources, solutions and opportunities for our students and families of the East Side Union High School District!
For many years in my career, I worked directly with students who were left behind by our society and our education system. As youth entering high school, the education system had already told them that there wasn't a place in our schools. Our organization created an entrepreneurship program outside of the traditional structure and empowered youth to create and build their own business. There was no standardized testing, no SAT's but there was a structure of high engagement, a focus on critical 21st century skills (grit, communication, confidence, etc) and a set of high standards. Our program thrived because our program gave youth the tools to build, a safe place to be their authentic selves and expectations that met their brilliance.
