A vote about whether to recall Chuck Pyle from his elected position as mayor of Luray, Kansas took place on November 6, 2012.[1] York was retained.

Reasons for recall

Bruce Libal was a member of the recall committee. The recall effort was launched after the city closed a street and gave the land to the Rev. Ralph Cotterill and Stream of God Ministries. He was also accused of allowing advertisements to be inserted in June city utility bills and allowing a city utility account to miss a payment.[1]

Path to the ballot

In October, 20 signatures on the recall petition were certified.[2]
