Elections
2017
A special election for the position of Louisiana House of Representatives District 92 was called for March 25, 2017. The state scheduled a general election to take place on April 29, 2017, if needed.[1]
Louisiana elections use the Louisiana majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50% of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

The seat became vacant following Tom Willmott's (R) election to the Kenner City Council.
Joe Stagni (R) defeated Chuck Toney (D) and Gisela Chevalier (R) in the special election.[2][3]
