Chuck Weller was the judge of Department 11 of the Second Judicial District Court, Family Division in Nevada. He was elected to the court on November 2, 2004, and took office on January 3, 2005.[1] Weller retired at the end of his term on January 3, 2021.[2]

Weller announced in January 2020 that he would not seek re-election.[2]

2014

Weller ran for re-election to the Second Judicial District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the primary on June 10, 2014, receiving 40.8 percent of the vote. He competed against John C. Hope, Jr. and Caren Cafferata-Jenkins.
General: He defeated Caren Cafferata-Jenkins in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 57.6 percent of the vote.[3][4]

Weller was re-elected to the Second Judicial District Court after running unopposed.[5]

Education

Weller received his undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s College in 1974, and his J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law School in 1977. He went on to receive his master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nevada Reno and the National Judicial College in 2009 and 2013, respectively.[1]

Career

Before his election to the court in 2004, Weller worked as an attorney in private practice in Reno, Nevada, for twenty-one years.[1]
