I was raised with three sisters by a single mother, I worked all through high school and I put myself through college. Married at 19, I juggled college, work and motherhood while getting my degree. I achieved my Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Biology and Education. Later, while working full time as a teacher, I attained my Master's degree in Geology & Earth Science at Boise State University.

Being trained in science, I have taught all my students to look at the evidence and consider both sides of all issues. 30 years as an educator, I will bring a unique perspective to the table, and that perseverance and dedication will make a good state representative. This is about who holds office, and whether they have the willingness and ability to serve others.

  • I have a strong vision for future of Idaho our state needs a representative who will look out for all our interests.
  • I believe public service is more than doing a job efficiently; it is a commitment that comes from deep inside, and a dedication to helping people.
  • I am determined to get Idaho's educational system out of last place, stimulate Idaho's economy, use smart-growth planning, anticipating changes in population for transportation and infrastructure needs.
Early-childhood education- we need to start teaching when kids start learning.

Education to be Career-oriented, developing a workforce ready and trained for business in Idaho.
Smart-growth planning, anticipating changes in population, transportation and infrastructure needs.
Idaho should be responsible for taxes, remove the unfair burden on Cities and Counties; distribute internet sales tax, remove old tax exemptions and sunset others, minor adjustments to property and income tax alleviating bond and levy burden.
A livable wage: this money goes back into the economy and tax base.

Alternative energy projects are economically smart, creating jobs with sustainable cost savings for all.

I look up to people who have integrity and people who persevere. There are many people out there that fit that bill, right now Michelle Obama comes to mind. She is well educated yet humble. During the time she was the first lady, she demonstrated grace and integrety will juggling marrige, motherhood and her first lady duties. I admire that.
To listen to the people,

To hear the people
To serve the people

To work for the people
A better world. A world my children and grandchildren can enjoy.
The Apollo 11 landing on the moon in 1969. I was 7 years old and I remember watching it on TV in black and white. I remember the man's voice "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for man kind" , which I later learned was Neil Armstrong. I had no idea how many challenges those astronauts had for that mission to the moon, nor the immense manpower and technology it took to get them there.
I started babysitting when I was 12 years old. My first 'official' job was working for a fast food restaurant. I worked there 3 months and was 14 years old at the time. I transitioned into a receptionist job for an Ophthalmologist office, and worked there for 9 months. I moved ton o retail, and worked for a small clothing shop for 1.5 years until I graduated from high school.
I love to read. There are too many 'favorite' books. I read to get information, to grow as a person and for entertainment.

Informational books that left an impression: 1984, Population Bomb, and On Origin of Species.

Growth : Road less Traveled, The Art of Public Speaking, Teaching with Love and Logic, and Death and life of the American School System.

Entertainment Authors: Dean Koonz, Karin Slaughter, Patricia Cornwell, Sandra Brown
Madam Secretary. She is smart and cool under pressure. She models how a woman can manage her career, family, and marriage successfully...All while saving the country.
The overall duty of the legislature is to convey the peoples interests into policies and bills. They set levels for state appropriations, fund revenues, and taxation. Bills may originate in either house and may be amended or rejected in either house-except that bills for raising revenue shall originate in the house.
Idaho has 35 districts, each district has two House Representatives and one state Senator. Idaho has a total of 70 House Representative members and 35 State Senate members.
No I do not. 30 years as an educator, I will bring a unique perspective to the table, and that perseverance and dedication will make a good state representative. This is about who holds office, and whether they have the willingness and ability to serve others.
I come from humble beginnings and put myself through school. I value education, and as a scientist, I am thoughtful about solutions and I know the importance of evidence before making any decisions.
Getting our State legislature to recognize:

The value of Education
The importance of planning for population growth
The evidence and effects climate change
The significance of a livable wage to our economy

The value in restructuring our taxation and revenue
The ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature is that both these branches have the same objective; the common welfare and interest of the people of the state. They should be able to work together negotiate and compromise to the benefit all the people of the state.
Yes. We all come from different backgrounds and have different perspectives. Building relationships and being able to communicate across the aisle allows for things to get done which benefits all the people.
