|My career was spent primarily as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. After retiring, I focused on the democratic process by volunteering with the League of Women Voters and the Elections Department as a Deputy Registrar and being an election worker. I am an active volunteer with Save Our Schools, Stop Dark Money, and Planned Parenthood.
I’ve spent multiple summers gathering signatures for Save Our Schools on behalf of school funding. The petitions’ popularity proves the vast majority of Arizonans prefer successful and well-funded schools which are necessary for safer and healthier communities as well as providing the foundation for sustainable economic growth. Multiple efforts have been consistently thwarted, and the only viable solution is to elect legislators who are dedicated to restoring education funding. This is the only way to address the crisis that is a direct result of policies and budgets that consistently drain money from our public schools.
I am passionate about privacy in healthcare and believe that the government should not be involved in any healthcare decisions, including all reproductive options.
I've lived in Arizona for nearly 30 years; I'm a mother of three and a grandmother of two.
- I want to increase public school funding (including post high school education) and bring accountability and transparency to the tax-supported charter schools.
- I want to continue the secure election system that we enjoy: I want to continue the accessibility that Arizona count on including early voting, mail in ballots, vote centers (non-precinct based), and PEVL. These systems are tried and true.
- I want to represent all citizens who believe government has no place in any healthcare decisions. The privacy of a doctor's office is sacred: every treatment option and every healthcare decision belongs to the patient and healthcare team. No options should be restricted or required.
Increased education funding is a must if our democracy and the economic health of Arizona is going to be sustainable.
Our elections are secure and must remain secure and accessible so every voter has access to make their voice heard: this is also to underpin our democratic system at every level of government.
The physical and mental healthcare of our citizens must remain the purview of the patient and the healthcare team: government policies should not restrict or require any options. Insurance companies may have an impact and patients can consult friends and spiritual advisors if they choose. The legislature has no right to impose its opinions or its will in those decisions.
