LOUISVILLE, Kentucky: Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Brian C. Edwards has dismissed manslaughter and fetal homicide charges against Bernard Kalep King. King had been charged with the 2007 deaths of his girlfriend, Brandie Chadwell, and their unborn daughter.[1] Edwards threw out the case based on a Kentucky Supreme Court ruling that a urine test is not sufficient evidence to prove intoxication. King admitted to using drugs prior to the fatal crash, but police did not do a blood test. Chadwell's mother, Maggie Briley, plans on filling civil suit against King. King is currently serving time for cocaine possession.[2]
