Keith Willett was the lead petitioner for the removal of Lang and Neville from the city council. Willett, a candidate for mayor in the 2015 election, accused Lang and Neville of holding meetings regarding city business without following the city charter's rules for open meetings. He suggested that additional recalls against city officials would have been pursued if state law did not prevent recalls for officials in the first six months or last six months of their terms.[1]
