Recall reports

A recall effort in Windcrest, Texas, against City Councilmen Gerd Jacobi, James McFall, and Jim Shelton was initiated in October 2017. Recall organizer Liz Dick began collecting signatures for the recall in January 2018. Petitioners submitted 460 signatures on January 19, 2018.[1]

Members of the city council targeted for recall must resign or request a public hearing, after which the council may vote to put the recall on the next ballot. Meetings were scheduled for February 12 and February 14, but none of the three councilmen facing recall showed up, preventing a quorum. Because recalls can't be filed against council members with terms ending within six months, the recall efforts against Jacobi, McFall, and Shelton couldn't move forward.[2]

My San Antonio reported that petitioners sought a recall because the city council voted to replace the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Association with the newly formed WVFD Bugle Crew.[1]
