The city of Boston, Massachusetts, held general elections for city council on November 7, 2023. A primary was scheduled for September 12, 2023. Candidates were required to file by June 23, 2023.[1] The filing deadline, originally scheduled for May 23, 2023, was delayed to accommodate the redistricting process for city council districts.[2] On May 24, 2023, the Boston City Council voted to approve a new district map.[3]
A special election for District 8 of the city council took place on July 25, 2023. The filing deadline for this election was May 11, 2023.
