The city of Garland, Texas, held general elections for mayor and city council on May 1, 2021. A runoff election was scheduled for June 5, 2021. The filing deadline for this election was February 12, 2021.
A special election also took place in 2021 to fill an unexpired term for District 1 on the city council. Ricky McNeal was appointed to the seat in December 2020 and held the seat until the May 1 election. The filing deadline for the special election was March 1, 2021.
