City of Coachella Utility Users Tax, Measure M (November 2009)
A City of Coachella Utility Users Tax, Measure M ballot question was on the November 3, 2009 ballot for voters in the City of Coachella in Riverside County, where it was defeated.[1]
If Measure M had been approved, it would have been assessed on electricity, gas, water, sewer, cable TV and refuse hauling. The city estimated that it would have gained $1.2 million in new tax revenue if Measure M had been approved.
In March 2010, Coachella's city council voted 5-0 to put Measure I, another utility tax question on the June 8, 2010 ballot. It was approved.[2]
