A City of Del Rey Oaks Special Transactions and Use Tax, Measure R ballot question was on the November 4, 2014 election ballot for voters in the city of Del Rey Oaks in Monterey County, California. It was approved.

Upon approval, Measure R increased the city's transactions and use tax by an additional one half of one percent. Revenues from the tax were designated to preserve essential city services and facilities, including crime prevention, emergency response, and street and sidewalk repair.[1]

Ballot question

The question on the ballot appeared as:[1]

To preserve essential city services and facilities in Del Rey Oaks, including crime prevention and emergency response; repair of streets and sidewalks; and other city services; shall the City of Del Rey Oaks increase the transactions and use tax by an additional one half of one percent (.50%) to provide an on-going source of local funds to be used only in Del Rey Oaks, the proceeds of said tax to be utilized for general governmental purposes, protected from State takeways? [2]
