City of Estacada, Charter Amendment, Measure 3-346 (November 2009)
The City of Estacada, Charter Amendment, Measure 3-346 was on the November 3 ballot in Clackamas County.
The measure sought to amend the charter in regard to requiring voters to approve proposed taxes, charges or fees the city wishes to implement. The measure proposed amending Chapter II Section 4 of the City charter, which deals with city issues, taxes and fees.[1] Support against this measure came out strong, many seeing this as a potential waste of tax dollars on potentially needless elections. If approved, there would need to be an election if the city wanted to raise any tax or fee above 3 percent of the current rate.[2]
