A City of Pinole Sales Tax, Measure S ballot question was on the November 4, 2014 election ballot for voters in the city of Pinole in Contra Costa County, California. It was approved.
Measure S authorized the city to impose an additional 0.5 percent transaction and use tax, commonly called a sales tax.[1]
With this Measure S tax, the total sales tax rate in the city amounted to 9 percent as of 2015. Of this total, 7.5 percent was the minimum sales tax mandated by the state, and 1 percent was imposed by the county.
