A City of Porterville City Council Automatic Vacancy Amendment, Measure O ballot question was on the June 3, 2014 election ballot for voters in the city of Porterville in Tulare County, California, where it was approved.
Measure O amended the city charter to require that a council seat automatically become vacant if a council member leaves the city for more than 45 days or fails to attend five consecutive city council meetings.[1]

Should the Charter be amended to provide that a council member seat becomes vacant if, without permission from the Council, a council member removes or absents himself/herself from the City for more than forty-five (45) days, fails to attend five (5) consecutive regular meetings, unless prevented from attending by sickness, and in that event after ninety (90) days?[2] |
