I am a Licensed Social Worker and have my master's in community social work. I was raised in Upper Sandusky, Ohio but now live and work in Findlay, Ohio. My mother was the first in her family to go to college and is a public school teacher knowing first hand how important strong public education is. My father became the first in his family to go to college not by choice but because when the automotive factory he worked at shut down he knew he had to do something different to provide for his family. I know first hand how poor policy decisions at the local and state level hurt communities. Today I work as a Program Manager for a local peer Recovery Community Organization.
  • We need to ensure our public schools are fully funded and supported so that our communities remain strong and ready for the future.
  • We need to support our LGBTQ+ community, especially our youth and pass the Ohio Equality Act.
  • We need to build up Ohio's infrastructure to increase public transportation including rail and to ensure all Ohioans have access to Broadband.
I am personally passionate about public transportation, public school, affordable housing, LGBTQ+ equality, and substance use and mental health prevention and treatment
My role model will always be my mother and father. My mother grew up in the state of Delaware where she lived with my grandmother who could not read or write. She grew up with an economic disadvantage but she knew how to work hard. She got her GED and joined the air force where she would meet my dad. When she got out of the air force she became a public school teacher which she still does to this day. My father worked at an automotive factory until they closed their doors. Faced with a choice my dad wanted to provided a better life for his family. We ended sitting near each other in the high school cafeteria as we both took our ACTs to get into college. Today he is a nurse practitioner. The two of them taught me all I needed to know about hard work and perseverance,
I believe honesty, transparency and vulnerability is important for elected officials.
I can be vulnerable and honest and understand the daily perseverance it takes to live each day.
I first worked for a local catering company in my home town. I started there when I was 14 and worked there for nearly 10 years.
I believe the ideal relationship between the two are to work together but hold each accountable. To maintain that checks and balance.
The greatest challenge over the next decade will be to keep young people in the state and be a place where people want to work and live.
I think it could be helpful at times but that it is always important to have a mix of experiences in the state legislator.
I believe in fait redistricting that matches the voting of the state as well as keeps communities together.
I believe that people can compromise on somethings to get things accomplished but compromises can not be made when it comes to peoples rights and ability to exists.
