Clare Jupiter
Clare Jupiter was a judge on the Orleans Parish Civil District Court (Division E) in Louisiana. She was elected on November 19, 2011, and took office in 2012.[1] She was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015.
Jupiter passed away on May 18, 2018, following complications from a stroke. Her term would have expired on December 31, 2020.[2][3][4]

Jupiter ran for re-election to the Orleans Parish Judicial District.
As an unopposed candidate, she was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot.

2011
Jupiter won the runoff election on November 19 with 59.5 percent of the vote. She defeated Nakisha Ervin-Knott.[1][5]
Jupiter won 33.67 percent of the vote in the previous three-way race.[6][7]

Education
Jupiter earned a B.A. from Yale University in 1974, going on to receive her J.D. from Duke University in 1978. She was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1979.[8][9]
Career
Jupiter spent much of her pre-judicial career as an attorney representing the Orleans Parish School Board, also handling divorce cases and tort defense litigation. She lectured on trial advocacy, legal ethics, education law, worker's compensation and professionalism.[9][10]
