A Claremont Unified School District bond proposition, Measure CL was on the November 2, 2010 ballot for voters in the Claremont Unified School District in Los Angeles County. It was defeated.
Measure CL, if it had been approved by voters, would have allowed the school board of the Claremont Unified School District to borrow $95 million. The money would have been spent to "make funding available for qualified teachers and academic programs threatened by the State cuts, provide safe/modern classrooms, qualify for State matching funds, construct, acquire, repair equip classrooms/school facilities/sites, improve fire/student safety [and] upgrade instructional technology, labs/libraries, roofs, plumbing [and] wiring."
A 55 percent supermajority vote was required for approval.

Measure CL: To support and repair Claremont schools, make funding available for qualified teachers and academic programs threatened by the State cuts, provide safe/modern classrooms, qualify for State matching funds, construct, acquire, repair equip classrooms/school facilities/sites, improve fire/student safety, upgrade instructional technology, labs/libraries, roofs, plumbing, wiring, shall Claremont Unified School District issue $95,000,000 in bonds, at legal rates, with independent citizen oversight and all funds supporting local schools?[1] |
