Clarke County gets new district judge
March 4, 2011
Alabama: Yesterday, Governor Robert Bentley announced the appointment of James Harding Morgan to the district court in Clarke County. Morgan fills the vacancy left by the retirement of William Kimbrough.[1]
Before he was appointed to the bench, Morgan served as an Assistant District Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit in Alabama. In the appointment announcement, Governor Bentley said, "Working as an Assistant District Attorney in Clarke County, J.R. Morgan has experienced nearly every type of case to prepare him for this position. I believe he is more than qualified and will serve the citizens of Clarke County with honesty and integrity.”[1]
Morgan must run for election to the seat in November 2012 if he wishes to continue serving.[2]
