Claudia Bonnyman is a former chancellor for the Davidson County Chancery Court (Twentieth Judicial District) in Nashville, Tennessee. She was appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen in September 2003. Bonnyman was elected to the court in 2006 and re-elected on August 7, 2014.[1][2][3][4] She retired at the end of 2018.[5]

Education

Bonnyman received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1970 and her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1974.[1][2]

Career

Bonnyman, early in her career, worked as a law clerk for Judges William Harbison and John T. Nixon and as an assistant district attorney. She has practiced with the law firm of Woods & Wood and was a partner at the firm of Waddey and Jennings. She then became a partner with Ortale, Kelly, Herbert and Crawford until her appointment to the Davidson County Chancery Court in 2003. She also served as a clerk and master for Davidson County from 1989 to 2003.[1][2]
