Campaign website
Croom's campaign website stated the following:
The Clerk of Superior Court is a leader, administrator, record keeper, comptroller, and judge of probate. First and foremost, Claudia is a leader. Leadership is her passion. Her goal is to maximize the gifts and talents of the 185 assistant and deputy clerks performing the critical functions of Wake County Clerk’s Office.
Claudia’s vision is to provide courteous, efficient and professional customer service and to ensure the accuracy and integrity of court records for the public and legal community in her role as record keeper and administrator. The Clerk receives, invests and disburses millions of dollars as comptroller. As judge of probate, the Clerk has exclusive original jurisdiction relating to the probate of wills and administration of estates. This judicial role also includes presiding over adoptions, competency, guardianship, partitions of property, foreclosures, and other hearings.
Claudia’s promise to Wake County residents is the faithful and impartial performance of the duties of the office of Clerk of Superior Court.
