Claudia R. Isom was a judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was elected to the court on November 6, 1990, and assumed office on January 8, 1991. She was re-elected without opposition in 2008 and 2014.[1][2][3][4] Isom left the office in 2018.[5]

Isom served on the following divisions of the court: Family Law, Criminal Justice (Felony), Juvenile Dependency, Juvenile Delinquency, Circuit Civil, East Division (Plant City) and the Probate, Guardianship and Trust Division.[6][7]

Isom ran for re-election to the Thirteenth Circuit Court.
As an unopposed candidate, she was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot.[3] 

Education

Isom received her B.S. degree from the University of Iowa in 1972 and her J.D. from Florida State University in 1975.[6]

Career

Isom served as a legislative secretary to Iowa State Representative Adrian Brinck in 1969. She began her legal career in 1979 as an assistant state attorney in the 13th Judicial Circuit and served there until 1982. From 1984 to 1986, Isom served as legal counsel for District VI of the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. She then was a shareholder of the law firm of Isom, Pingel and Isom-Rickert, P.A. from 1986 until her election to the Thirteenth Circuit Court in 1990. She also previously served as a part-time juvenile arbitrator, circuit civil mediator, general master for the 13th Judicial Circuit Family Law Division, and program attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Program.[6][8][7]
