Hello, I am Clay Lewallen. I was born in Danville by Dr. James Pennington and I have been a member of Yell county my whole life. I have 3 boys and 2 girls that I worked hard to raise in this community.
  • I believe in family and the constitution. I believe the freedoms we were given should not be taken away. I believe that family is one of the most important topics and that there should be more time for family to spend together. Children spending time with their parents help build a strong more confident young adult.
  • I believe that our elected officials should work to better our community and not be in office just to better themselves alone. I think that our community should work together to make sure we are all taken care of and that everyone that lives within Yell county should have their voices heard.
  • I am a registered notary public and am ordained minister in Dardanelle Arkansas.
I believe that our elected officials treat folks as they would want to be treated. I think that the police should show up in a timely manner and show respect to everyone no matter the situation. How you treat people matters.
Honesty and integrity are some of the most important traits to have as a human being, so they should be the core values for elected officials.
I am an honest, down home man and I believe I would be good at assisting the police in a lot of different areas if I were to be elected. I do have a way of being able to talk to a wide variety of people.
I believe that someone that is elected to office should make sure everyone is treated fairly, respectful and honestly. There should never be 2 sets of rules for elected officials. There is one set and everyone should be bound by the rules and laws that we as Americans have voted one.
I think that when I am gone from this world people might say I was an honest man and tried to help as many people in need as I could. Maybe that I took care of my family and never gave up on things easily.
I remember in 1981 they tried to assassinate president Ronald Reagan. I was about 8 years old. All of America was in shock and that's all anyone was talking about.
My first job was when I was 9 years old. I got a lawnmower and went out in the neighborhood and finally got a job mowing an older lady's yard and repairing her flower bed. It took me most of that day on the garden because I had to do it by hand with a pick axe and a hoe. She finally came outside and made me stop because I had blisters on my hands and had refused to stop. I remember she paid me $35 by check for that job. And at 9 years old, it was hard to get that cashed. I took the money and bought me and all my brothers and sisters food.
I was helping my brother work on cutting some trees in Arkadelphia and a huge limp fell on me and crushed me to the ground. That happened in August of 2019. It broke my hip out of place and a large chip out of the hip bone. Broke my face in several places requiring 5 different surgeries. It ripped the muscles from both my shoulders and arms. It has been hard to accept my limitations but I have managed to accept what cannot be repaired. I do know that God was watching out for me that day.
I believe all government officials and offices should be held accountable for their actions. Their should not be a curtain that they get to hide behind due to their office or wealth. If you break the law, you have to pay the same price as anyone else.
