This measure sought to increase the current property tax by 2.2 mills for a further three years in order to further help pay for the township police department services.[2] On average, homeowners would have seen an increase of $110 a year on their property taxes. Township officials tried to levy this tax increase previously without a vote but residents filed a complaint leading officials to rescind the proposal.[3]
