A charter amendment regarding the salaries of city council members was on the ballot for Cleveland voters in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, on April 28, 2020.[1] It was approved.
A "yes" vote supported amending the city charter to limit the annual salary increase of city council members to the percentage increase in salary of a majority of city recognized unions. |
A "no" vote opposed amending the city charter to limit the annual salary increase of city council members to the percentage increase in salary of a majority of city recognized unions. |
A simple majority requirement was required for the approval of Issue 6.

Cleveland City Council Salary
In 2018, the average salary of a member of the Cleveland City Council was $80,133. Columbus City Council members earn $57,738 a year. The last raise for the Cleveland City Council took effect in 2018.[4]
