Just thinking of me of Bernie Sanders with better hair. I am very passionate about women’s reproductive freedom, Universal healthcare, fair wages, and strong union proponent. I have an American history degree from the university of Cincinnati and taught in the Cincinnati public school system of the 1990s. I have connections and understand the Social issues facing, the younger voters in District 56. It is time for a voice in Columbus to fight against corporate greed and the lobby system that’s poisoning the state of Ohio and the rest of America.
  • Autonomy and reproductive rights now!
  • Wages $24 an hour minimum wage by 2028.
  • Removing large money donors from politics. It has been poisoned by corporate America and tilted in the favor of the wealthiest Ohio wins. Corporate tax rates need to go back to 70% both Statewide and Nationally.
Reproductive freedom, education, production of taxes for those making under $250,000 year household income. Funding education and removal of voucher programs that are just siphoning off public funds for the wealthy to subsidize private schools.
I’ll look up those who took risks both personally and professionally and knew what they were doing could injure their own reputation. Those who fought for women’s suffrage, civil rights, gay rights,. Those who found an issue that they were passion about and that was a hill they were willing to die on.
Elected officials represent the people. Those principles are rooted in the constitution. Unlike many of my colleagues, I have actually read and understand and taught the principles of the United States Constitution and understand how it applies to Americans. Being a fluid document there are 27 amendments and that’s because, it is flexible and changes with each generation. Those support candidates that do not recognize free and fair elections should not be allowed on ballots. The majority opinion should rule not the wealthiest minority.
What makes me uniquely tailored for this is my extensive knowledge in American history, government and my connection with not only older voters, but having three daughters ages 35 to 18 allows me to be in touch with the next generations challenges and commit to make their lives better than mine. I am leaving the private sector to enter the governmental sphere out of necessity for I see those who occupy those spaces do not have the best interest of the public at heart.
You are responsible to the people who elected you. To make sure your meeting their needs their challenges they’re struggles. If you’re not making the lives of your electorate easier and better what is the point of going into office in the first place?
My hope is to have some legislation that improves the lives of Ohio in my district and to show my daughters Government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this earth.
Watching the Watergate Hearings, and seeing the corruption of government displayed and the public erosion of trust and those who govern..
I was 16 years old and worked on the grill at a Wendy’s in Baton Rouge Louisiana. I did not like it and it was not fun. Frosty’s and chicken on the way home was a nice perk, however.
Leadership during Turbelent Times by Doris Kearns Goodwin. She is the preeminent presidential story in and she tells of the Lincoln Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin, Delano Roosevelt, and Lyndon Bain Johnson Presidencies.
Balance. Balance between family health and profession. Making connections with those I care about the most and keeping those connections going over long distances and time.
The Ohio house and Senate legislate and debate Bills that should be popular majority of its electorate. The governor has to be the guard rail to make sure that all of Ohio citizens are treated fairly equally.
End of tribalism and politics. Obstruction by one party over another, simply for performative reasons. Negotiation and compromise needs to be brought back and sensible Bills that help make everyone’s lives easier not harder. Staying away from culture war issues, which are simply done to divide the Electorate.
Of course, alliances must be created both inside and out of parties. Isolation is never works. Tribal politics has proven to be effective.
Of course, healthcare is a major issue for all Ohio ones. Speaking to a particular resident of Lebanon, Ohio about having to choose whether or not to go to the doctor by medication or pay rent because of the lack of expansion of Medicaid by the governor. Money is earmarked from the federal government Healthcare that can’t afford it politics. That has to.
In natural or catastrophic emergency situations only.
Making sure that reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy is in shrines into the Ohio Constitution without any delay or any caveats. The people spoke November last year on Issue #1
Education, commerce, environment
Candidate should be transparent while running for office and while in office. People respect that and understand that people are not perfect but they also know when they’re being lied to and deceived. It’s insulting when politicians do that. That is why people have lost faith in the ability of politics and governance to exist in the same sphere.
Districts need to be re-drawn per the Supreme Court decision. Gerrymandering entering disenfranchises, thousands of Ohio ones and eliminates their voice in Columbus.
