I have 25+ years in higher education as a biology professor and administrator. I would be advocate for providing a strong academic foundation for the graduates entering into the workforce, military, trade school, or college. I have trained STEM teachers, integrated technology into curricula, developed and evaluated curricula for academic success, monitored large budgets, and renovated facilities. I am running to impact this diverse community educational landscape so that we can grow positively with the new administration. As a Board member, I would work with the administration, teachers, staff, students, and parents to prepare “21st century global learners”.
  • KIds over politics: Advocate for academic excellence Dr. Lane understands the importance of quality instruction and high expectations. He is committed to supporting rigorous academic standards and ensuring students of all backgrounds have access to the tools and support they need to succeed.
  • Support for Teachers/School staff: Dr. Lane will champion competitive pay, professional development, and a positive work environment that uplifts teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff across the district.
  • Community Engagement and transparency: Dr. Lane believes decisions made in our schools should reflect the voices of those they serve. He will prioritize transparency, accessibility, and open dialogue—ensuring every parent, educator, and student feels heard.
I am passionate about educational policy, workforce development, equity and access , and community development.
A Board member should provide an image of collaboration, communication, and community support. Each of these life skills we want students to process, they need to effectively work with individuals from different backgrounds through communication and collaboration.
As stated by the Texas Association of School Boards, the responsibilities of a trustee are to ensure accountability, fiscal stability, and shared visions and goals are adopted to maintain student achievement and the district's growth. In addition, to be a community liaison, a person willing to listen to the community's needs about education.
My legacy as a member of the Board of Trustees is that I chose the kids over politics. He was passionate about educating ALL the district's students and put the "trust into trustee". He strongly advocated for public schools and everyone who contributed to the school district's success, from teachers, paraprofessionals, staff, safety officers, administrators, and most importantly, the parents.

My constituents are all the kids and parents of the community, teachers, professionals, paraprofessionals, and school district staff.
I will be a person who will engage the community. I will go to community groups, places of faith, community events, and businesses. Through communication among the members of each group, CFISD will become a stronger community.
I will focus on parent groups, business groups, and civic groups. I understand the importance of community engagement.
An ideal learning environment is where a student feels safe, incorporates all learning styles, and is a place of engagement.
I will go to activities supporting the students. I will go to community groups and have listening sessions with the parents in the community.
I suggest proactive outreach to qualified personnel, competitive compensation and benefits, and a referral program.
I will be an advocate for incorporating diverse perspectives in the curriculum. I understand the importance of having diverse representation when discussing education and the growth of the community in general.
AI is changing the landscape in education and the workforce of the future generation. The district must look at the landscape and best practices to ensure our students are prepared to enter the workforce, trade schools, military, or higher education.
