Clifford Lynwood Athey, Jr. is a judge on the Virginia Court of Appeals. He was sworn into office on September 3, 2019, to succeed Judge Teresa M. Chafin.[1]

Athey was a circuit court judge for the 26th Judicial Circuit in Virginia from 2012 to 2019.[2] He was appointed to the court by Governor Bob McDonnell in May 2012.[3][4]

Education

Athey received his undergraduate degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990 and his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1993.[5]
