Biography
Olivier earned his B.S. in speech communications from California State University, Long Beach. His professional experience includes working as a news reporter and anchor for KMPH, FOX 26, and ABC 30 Action News in the Fresno area. He served as an air support radioman in the United States Marine Corps from 1994 to 1998.[1]

Elections for the California State Assembly took place in 2016. The primary election was held on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was February 25, 2016, for candidates filing with signatures. The deadline for candidates using a filing fee to qualify was March 11, 2016.[2]
Incumbent Joaquin Arambula defeated Clint Olivier in the California State Assembly District 31 general election.[3][4]

Special election
A special election for the position of California State Assembly District 31 was called for April 5. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 11.[7][8]
The seat was vacant following Henry T. Perea's (D) resignation on December 31, 2015.[9]
Joaquin Arambula (D) defeated Ted Miller (D) and Clint Olivier (R) in the special election. Since Arambula received more than 50% of vote, he avoided the runoff election that was scheduled for June 7th.[10][11]
2014
The city of Fresno, California held a general election on November 4. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. Because one candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the District 7 primary, its general election was called off. Incumbent Clint Olivier defeated Mike Wells, Mauro Saldate and Art Gonzales.[12][13]
