Three seats on the Cobb County School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Posts 2, 4 and 6 were up for election. Republican primaries for all three seats and a Democratic primary for the Post 2 seat were held on May 20, 2014. A Republican primary runoff for Post 2 was held on July 22, 2014.

Two incumbents sought re-election in 2014, but only one retained his seat on the board. Post 2 incumbent Timothy Stultz attracted the most challengers. He went head-to-head with fellow Republicans Susan Thayer and Jeffery Able in the party primary. He came in second place, but Thayer—the top primary vote recipient—did not win a majority of the votes cast. Thayer and Stultz advanced to a primary runoff where Thayer won the Republican spot on the general election ballot. There, she faced and defeated Kenya Pierre, the lone Democrat in the entire election.

Post 6 incumbent Scott Sweeney retained his seat. After facing challenger Kevin Nicholas in the Republican primary, Sweeney was unopposed in the general election.

Post 4 incumbent Kathleen Angelucci did not seek re-election in 2014. David Chastain and Bill Scott vied for the open seat in the Republican primary, where Chastain was victorious. He faced no challengers in the general election.
