Williams was defeated by incumbent Bennie Thompson.[1] Williams ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Mississippi's 2nd District. As the nominee on the Independent ticket, Williams faced incumbent Bennie Thompson (Democratic), Bill Marcy (Republican), and Lajena Williams (Reform) in the November 2012 general election.[2]
