I am a wife, mom, teacher, and business owner>

Teacher After graduating from college, I got my first job as a teacher; I taught 2nd and 6th grade.

Wife & Mom I married my high school sweetheart, Scott Galloway. We have 4 great kids!

Business Owner In 2006 we opened LeapFox Learning, a vocational training school for adults. I count building a profitable business from scratch to sale as one of my key accomplishments. We sold the school about 5 years ago and now own and operate OEC, a construction business in Boise.

Outdoor Girl You might catch me with my kids on skis at Bogus in the winter or Lucky Peak in the summer. We like them both! In the past few years, I have been racing Spartans with my husband and climbing mountains with my family.

Representing My Boise Neighborhood I was born to a fighter pilot dad and a patriotic mom. From the time I was a little girl I was taught to honor and respect the freedom we enjoy in America; I love the USA and am proud to have called Idaho home for the past 40 years. I went to kindergarten in this district and now have kids graduating from Centennial. I love my community!

  • Pro Freedom: People, not government, should be able to decide what is best for them and their families. I say yes to the power of the individual, the family, and the human spirit.
  • Pro Education: I’m pro children and pro family. I am for innovation, options, and efficiency in our schools.
  • Low Taxes: I’m for a fiscally responsible and efficient government that is accountable for every taxpayer dollar. Individuals can manage their money better than the government
Education. Education advances skillsets, unlocks opportunities, and inspires confidence. As a former teacher, mom, and school administrator I have personally seen how education changes individual lives in a way that nothing else can. I will continue work to improve education opportunities for every kid.
My experience as a 2nd grade teacher, mother of four, and as a business owner have helped me develop many qualities that bring success in life and as an officeholder. Those qualities include work ethic, compassion, financial literacy, critical thinking, project management, leadership, and problem solving. But in the end what District 15 needs most is a senator who is directly involved in the community and understands the challenges constituents face. I own a business in Boise, have children in public and private schools, teach in my church, and walk in the same shoes as many of the voters in district 15. I’ll be a successful office holder because I am an integral part of the community I seek to represent.
As an Idaho State Senator, I will have the responsibility to move forward the priorities I campaign on: Pro freedom, Pro Education, and Low taxes. As I address those foundational principals I’ll think with innovation, listen with an open mind, and plan strategically to accomplish goals.
My first job was Idaho Statesman Papergirl. My route was on Maple Grove and I delivered papers rain or shine from 7th grade all the way through my junior year in high school.

After graduating from college, I got my first real job as a public school teacher. I taught kids how to think for themselves, use data to solve problems, and communicate effectively. My favorite part of teaching was helping kids find their individual strengths and unique abilities.
More important than political experience is community experience. The best legislators are those who are involved in their district through work, school, and play. Those who are involved in the real world have a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities their district faces. Professional politicians who have been in office for a decade tend to lose touch with the people they represent.
Here’s a joke. Not a joke but I always laugh when my teenagers ask for a later curfew because “every single one of their friends” has a later curfew. I used to try that trick to no avail with my own parents. You can’t fool moms.

Codi Galloway is a mom, business owner, outdoor enthusiast, and former elementary school teacher who believes in a conservative government in Idaho. As the Republican candidate for the Idaho House of Representatives in District 15B, she will prioritize making the Idaho economy strong through a business friendly environment, keeping taxes low, and enhancing education.
  • • Low taxes are key; we must stop rising property taxes!
  • • Limited government is the best way to support our economy and encourage great jobs.
  • • Education is a one of Idaho's greatest opportunities; as a former public school teacher I'll make it a priority.
I am passionate about education and making sure Idaho fulfills it's constitutional duty to establish and maintain our schools properly. As a former elementary school teacher, I recognize the value education has on the entire community and will work hard to make sure Idaho innovates, manages, and provides options in our education system.
Elected officials must be willing to listen, evaluate, think critically, and then be decisive using the constitution, constituent input, and core beliefs to legislate effectively.
One of my first historical memories was Desert Storm. At the time, my dad was a F-4 pilot in the Idaho Air National Guard. Suddenly what happened on the other side of the world seemed very close to home. I was in middle school at the time.
My first job was an Idaho Statesman Paper Girl. I had a route on Maplegrove and Ustick.
My first job after college was as a 2nd grade teacher in the Alpine School District.
No, not necessarily. For example I have 20 years of experience running a business. As a business owner I practiced, innovating, budgeting, communicating, hiring, listening, making decisions, saying no, and solving problems. Each of these skills provide valuable experience that will make me an effective state legistlator
My uncle is Joe Palmer. He currently represents district 20 in the Idaho House. In general, I agree with his conservative voting record and honest approach to government.
I have knocked over 2000 doors in the last two months and have had one issue repeat itself over and over in a similar story. It is the story of an elderly couple who are torn because they are having to choose between funding school bond levies and trying to stop the steep increase in property taxes. I am sad to hear grandmas feeling guilty for opposing "money for the kids" or trying to "stretch their fixed income" to pay for the taxes on a property they own. I will make this a priority.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Idaho

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Idaho scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
