A Cold Spring School District bond proposition, Measure R ballot question was on the February 5, 2008 ballot for voters in the Cold Spring School District in Santa Barbara County, California, where it was defeated.
If Measure R had been approved, it would have authorized the Cold Spring School District to borrow $8.5 million.
Eight months later, voters in the district did approve Measure C, a much smaller ($2.44 million) bond proposition.
A 55 percent supermajority vote was required for approval.

| MEASURE R: "To improve the quality of education, shall the Cold Springs School District be authorized to repair, renovate, upgrade, and modernize Cold Springs School; construct new classrooms, restrooms and educational facilities; and improve student safety and accessibility by issuing $8,500,000 in bonds, within legal interest rates, with spending reviewed annual by a citizen's oversight committee, no money for administrative salaries, and all funds spent locally within the District?"[1] |
