My name is Cole Johnson, and I’m running for North Carolina Senate District 1. I’m a Marine Corps veteran, first-generation farmer, husband, father, Christian, and lifelong conservative. I’ve seen firsthand how decisions in Raleigh affect everyday North Carolinians—families, farmers, and coastal communities. I’m running to defend limited government, lower taxes, parental rights, medical freedom, food freedom, and the livelihoods of those who keep our communities strong. I’m not running to rule—I’m running to represent District 1.
  • Limited Government for and by the People: Government should serve the people, not special interests. I will fight to restrain overreach, protect farmers, fishermen, and small businesses, and ensure laws reflect the needs of everyday North Carolinians.
  • Parental Rights and Medical Freedom: Parents—not bureaucrats—should make decisions for their children. I will protect parental authority in education, safeguard informed consent, and defend medical freedom for all citizens.
  • Affordability Through Lower Taxes: Families and small businesses are being squeezed. I will fight for low taxes while cutting unnecessary spending so North Carolinians can keep more of what they earn. Government should encourage, not punish property ownership, hard work, and contributing members of society. I will fight for you to keep hard earned money in your wallet.
I’m most passionate about policies that protect everyday North Carolinians from government overreach. That includes parental rights and medical freedom, ensuring families—not bureaucrats—make decisions for their children. I care deeply about affordability through lower taxes and responsible spending so working families can keep more of what they earn. I’m also passionate about food freedom, protecting local farmers and fishermen, and limiting government so it serves the people rather than special interests.
