Colleen Callahan
Colleen Callahan was the Illinois Director of Natural Resources. Callahan assumed office on April 12, 2019. Callahan left office on January 13, 2023.
Callahan was appointed to the position by Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on February 19, 2019. She was confirmed by the Illinois State Senate on April 12, 2019.[1] She left office at the end of her term.
Biography
At the time of her appointment to direct the state Department of Natural Resources, Callahan managed her own communications consulting firm. She previously worked as state director for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development in Illinois for seven years. She also worked as agribusiness director for local radio and television station WMBD in Peoria, Illinois, for 30 years.[2]

Callahan began serving as acting director of natural resources in Illinois in February 2019. She was appointed by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D).[2] She was confirmed by the Illinois State Senate on April 12, 2019.[1] She left office at the end of her term.
